Why Paper 1 questions "feel" different
Without a calculator, Paper 1 questions are deliberately designed to have clean, workable numbers — exact values like √2, π/6, or simple fractions rather than messy decimals. If you find yourself needing an ugly decimal to continue a Paper 1 question, that's usually a signal you've made an error somewhere, since the question was built to avoid that.
